A Scania with a sticky out front.
Dropped in 2005 due to lack of demand.

That's confusing to look at. I had no idea that was a thing

Yes, it seems an affront to nature.
I’d heard of them before but that was my first sighting.

My brother is absolutely crazy about these things, and reminds me everytime we see one....
Anyhow on the topic of sticky-outy truck thingies:
One out of 2 custom built Daf XT trucks, developed in secrecy from Daf, to prevent them from forbidding it apparently.
Why do I keep bringing up Daf all the time? I fear the indoctrination of studying in the hometown of Daf is getting to me, halp!

What the? Why? Because they could?

Yes, apparently the company wanted to celebrate an anniversary, so they had two of these built, because they had a Daf NAT(which is similar in shape) before, which they wanted to recreate in a new truck. Or so I’ve been told by my brother.

That’s just as weird!
Sticky out trucks aren’t viable in most of the world because every metre on the cab is a metre off the trailer.

Indeed, barring America where a meter doesn’t matter, hence the sticky out trucks there.

Cool, though I like mine a bit less Swedish. Not that I would turn this one down, if I was given it.

I was surprised I saw the same style trucks we use in United States in Russia, guess they’re not short on space in Russia. Mexico also uses the engine in front style, see plenty of trucks with Mexican plates driving on I-35.

Many second hand American trucks end up in Russia. They’re used (that is new ones because rhd) in Australia as well.

That doesn’t really surprise me, they also imported used Japanese cars, I rode in the front seat one on the way back to the airport and it was strange to be on left side of the car in a LHD country.

No Longline? I are disappoint.
Kidding aside, these Scania Ts must carry super short trailers to comply with Euro length restrictions.

Meters don’t matter here in America at all. We use the one true measurement system where the rules are made up and the points don’t matter.
